The Declined Rebellion Of Contemporary Chinese Rock Music

Since the appearance of CuiJian's rock song YiWuSuoYou, Chinese Rock Music already seen 22 years history. Go with China's special historical environment, Chinese Rock Music have experienced from nothing to a little, after for a time, from flourishing to decline. At the same time, rebellion, the spirit of Rock Music, has vanished in this process. Based on the research fruits, this thesis starts with the rebellion of Chinese Rock Music, through the case studies of CuiJian and Post-CuiJian Group, which includes XuWei, WangFeng, the band of Cockloft Circus, Fly, Tongue and Miserable Belief, This paper uses the research methods of analyzing of those people's song texts, to discover what they have rebelled in early rock works, and what have happened in their later works, and the reasons of these changes.This thesis is divided into five parts.The first part, introduce 22 years' history of Chinese Rock Music.The second part, the rebellion history of rock and the etic/emic's attitudes of rebellion of rock. The third part, CuiJian's case study, introduce his works, which have experience enlighten of early to later's individual experience. The fouth part, three groups case studies for Post-CuiJian Groups. The fifth part, put forward two reasons of the declined of the rebellion in Contemporary Chinese Rock Music.
