Chinese characters, the writing symbolisms of Chinese ,have thousands of years of history.Before Shuowenjiezi written by XuShen, the Chinese characters did not have the orderly word order. Shuowen founded the beginning of the radical look-up method, and have had the profound influence to later dictionary style development.The Chinese characters lack complete phonetic system because their number are multitudinous,and their structures are complex, therefore the establishment of word order is much more complex than the alphabetic script.So far, the Chinese characters' look-up method plan which has published and has not published has several hundreds of kinds.Our country has the most writing platoon examines law.This is a unique burden in the writing application technology in our country.For many years, the people examined the law to the traditional character radical class platoon to carry on the innumerable improvements, but the problems that the character radical did not have the fate, amorphously, or the indefinite foreword, and certain characters are difficult to turn over to,and the same character radical is difficult to decide and so on have not been solved yet. Dictionaries are almost essential to everybody, in order to provide the convenience to the users,we request the arrangement of each character to have certain order and the character to have the localization.This article mainly divides into five parts:Introduction part, including four aspects: the first is the method of Chinese traditional dictionary arranges,the second is the indexing system of Chinese characters of the radical development situation and the type of the radical, the third is the radical look-up method suits the arrangement about large-scale language reference book best, and the fourth is the large-scale dictionary should simultaneously use many kinds of indexing systems.Chapter One: the development of the indexing system of Chinese characters and the character radical types.This part mainly discusses the development of the radical look-up method from being established until now as well as the character radical types. The elaboration contains two aspects: one is the historical evolution of the radical look-up method, the other is the type s of the character radical.Chapter Two: The comparison of character radical between the two dictionaries.We compare the character radical between the new version of Cihai and Hanyudazidian roundly,to discover the advantage and disadvantage of each character radical system, by doing that,we hope it can provide some help to the arrangement of dictionary in the future.These parts contain seven parts: First, new version Cihai introduction, second, the originates of character radical in new version Cihai, third, Hanyudazidian introduction, fourth, the originates of the character radical in Hanyudazidian , fifth, the historical succession, sixth, the comparison of the distortion character radical, seventh, the new version Cihai sets up and the additional character radical.Chapter Three: The name of lateral part of character radical.The lateral part of character radical is an important constituent of Chinese character, it is significant to give them the unified name for Chinese teaching and Chinese research. This part elaborates from three aspects: first is the lateral part of character radical name needs to be unified, second is to unify the name of the lateral part of character radical has vital significance and function, third is to give the name of the specific character radical.The fourth chapter : the principle of individual character turns over to -- to decide according to the shape.The character radical unification could not satisfy the character to have the localization yet ,so it still needs to have the unification to turn over to a principle.According to the character radical standard ,it is correct to the Chinese character turns over to adopt from the shape procedure .From decides a necessity, according to the shape has the localization question, takes a level, sees the law four aspects to elaborate mutually.The fifth chapter is conclusion,elaborates the reason of the complexity of the radical look-up method and the significant and the aim of the radical look-up method optimization research.
