The graduation stage is the crucial period for young university students to step into society gradually. During this period, they generally have career-choosing anxiety. Career-choosing anxiety is a kind of Strong and lasting emotional experience in which individual predicts the threat to self and ego generated by unknown dangerous stimulation in internal and external career situation through individual cognitive evaluation of it when one feels unable to deal with the threat. At present, competition in the job market becomes fiercer as universities expand the number of students and reform in employment system. In addition, employers tend to be highly consumptive while choosing employees and they care the fame of the employee's university a lot. In this case, the graduates in newly-built colleges have rarer employment opportunities and also have more difficulty in finding a job. Therefore, graduates of such schools tend to be more easily in an anxious mood when facing career option. So it is necessary to concern the career-choosing anxiety of graduates in newly-built colleges, which does not only affect students' mental health and college's sustainable development but also the development of local economy and the salability of social order. This research views graduates in newly-built colleges as study object and makes analysis on the present condition and relationship between their career-choosing anxiety and self-concept. It also aims to provide some basis for these colleges' education management and employment guidance.The present study makes Zung self-assessment of anxiety table and the self-concept questionnaires of college students the study instruments, choosing at random 684 graduates in three newly-built colleges in Chong Qing for study and investigation. The software SPSS 13.0 is used to analyze the data and the study result shows as follow:(1) Anxieties of career-choosing to most graduates in newly-built colleges are quite severe. The total level of anxiety to them is 58. 29±11. 21 and the graduates who experience high levels of anxiety account for 25.3% of the survey. Variance analysis implies the difference existing in anxieties of career-choosing to the graduates in newly-built colleges is statistically obvious to some aspects, such as sex, city to village, teaching direction to non-teaching direction, the only children to those who are not and whether they have been made student cadre during the school time. And the results are that the level of anxiety to girl students is obviously higher than that to boy students; the level of anxiety to graduates in non-teaching direction is obviously higher than that to graduates in teaching direction; the level of anxiety to students of rural areas is much higher than that to students of urban areas; the level of anxiety to students who are the only children is obviously higher than that to students who are not; the level of anxiety to these who have not been made student cadres is obviously higher than that to those who have been made student cadres.(2) The concept of ego of the teaching direction graduates is far more obvious than that of non-teaching direction students in newly-built colleges; the concept of ego of students who have been made cadres is more obvious than that of students who have not ; the concept of communication and accepting-oneself of boy students is more obvious than that of girl students; the concept of communication and accepting-oneself of urban students is more obvious than that of rural students; the concept of communication, tendency and accepting-oneself of students who are not the only children is more obvious than that of students of who are only children; the concept of kindness, faithfulness and ego of students in teaching direction is more obvious than that of students in non-teaching direction; the concept of communication and ego of student cadres is more obvious than that of those who are not cadres.(3) The anxiety of career-choosing and the concept of ego of graduates in newly-built colleges exist apparently adverse relations; the most part of factors in the concept of ego don't exist statistically obvious difference with the anxiety of career-choosing, and the apparently adverse relation only exist in accepting-oneself, family and factors of communication.(4) The total scores of the concept ego have effective influence in anxieties of career-choosing and communication, accepting-oneself, family, maturity, kindness and tendency involved in the concept of ego have predictive effects on the anxiety of career-choosing, in which the prediction of communication is the best.
