Language is organized by its conceptual prototype. There are many similarities between the different types of verb-adjective related sentences. This dissertation analyzes the relationships and differences in distributions, semantic and syntax between the common verb- adjective established sentences, "BA" verb-adjective established sentences and sequence-verb verb-adjective established sentences.This dissertation concerns on the relationships and differences in selection and concealing of causer, syntactic meaning and generative mechanism between types of verb-adjective sentences.The main contribution of this dissertation can be listed as follow:1,Based on the semantic orientation and grammatical meaning of verb-adjective sentences, the dissertation discusses the distributions of the three types of verb-adjective sentences.2,After the distribution analysis of verb-adjective sentences, the dissertation researches the relationships and differences between the three types of verb-adjective sentences in semantic meanings. The dissertation finds out that the common property of verb-adjective sentences is causative meaning. The differences are: the causer of the common verb-adjective established sentences with constituent order NVC sentence is implicit, the causative meaning it expressed is weak; the causer of the common verb-adjective established sentences with constituent order N1VCN2 sentence is explicit, the causative meaning it expressed is predictable; the causer of "BA" verb-adjective established sentences is explicit, the causative meaning it expressed is subjective reasonable. The causer of "BA" verb-adjective established sentences is explicit; the causative meaning it expressed is a type of special causative.3,After carefully analyzing the three types of verb-adjective sentences using generative grammar, the dissertation proposes that all the verb-adjective related sentences have the same arborescence. The generative mechanisms of them are quite similar.This dissertation presents many research results in the characters and application of verb-adjective related sentences. It can be used as a good reference material for researches on verb-adjective related sentences.
