Haruki Murakami is a famous Japanese writer and his literature works is popular all over the world, especially young Asia writers and readers. Hardly any novels of his are not bestsellers. As his works are becoming popular and popular,"Haruki Murakami phenomenon"coming into being, more and more Haruki Murakami websites also appears. Even read Haruki Murakami or not is becoming one of the critical standard for Petty Bourgeois Sentiment. Hundred of thousands Chinese people has been pay attention on Haruki Murakami already.The novel Norwegian Wood makes Haruki Murakami well known, through which many readers firstly know his name. And this work is to describe the spirit world of lonely and helpless young people under the so-called highly developed capitalist society background in the 1970s and 1980s. Also for presentation types, it embodies the post modernism literature basic features and his writing feature i.e. combination of western culture and eastern culture, mixing of different writing skills, and merging of traditional style and post modernism style under the western culture influencing the eastern culture. They are mixed each other and harmonious, and finally form one integrated body so that it becomes Haruki Murakami's unique characteristic. So this thesis mainly discourses such mixing and combination phenomenon appeared in Haruki Murakami works as the center of Norwegian Wood.But this is not to say that Haruki Murakami is a completed western-lized writer, as a matter of fact the spirit of his work is still maintaining the Japanese traditional ideas, and also he only prefer to use some western technique, this is why he was call"foreign costume Japanese writer". This is a good reference for our young litterateur to face the globalizing world. This thesis aims to Haruki Murakami's famous work Norweigian Wood to discuss he use for reference to American literature and the Japanese tradition ideas. Which artistic successful places in this work? Which imitational places for our young writers to use this kind of composition? This thesis is mainly divided into the following parts: the introduction is to introduce the"Haruki Murakami"phenomenon research situation in home and overseas. The first chapter is to start introducing the background and his life experiences. The second chapter is the key part, and here it discourses in the novel Norwegian Wood which include literary reference and the Japanese traditional ideas.The third chapter is to introduce artistic success in the whole world. And the last part is conclusion.
