Study On The Effect Of The Social Change On The Urban Spatial Structure In Shenyang City After 1949

The change of urban spatial structure is always one of the focuses of the geographical researches, and the process of the urban spatial structure change always shows the polynary characteristic due to the dynamics and openness of the urban system. This dissertation ,basing on the perspective of New Regional Geography , applying the studying methods of Historical Geography , mainly discusses the features of influence the social change have on the urban spatial structure change by studying the changing process of the social change and urban spatial structure of Shenyang city, liaoning province. Furthermore this paper also attempts to build the framework of the coupling relationship between both sides. This paper includes five chapters:The first chapter introduces the studying background, the significance of the research, the main content and methods, the key problems to solve, the creative point. The main ideas and the conceptual system of New Regional Geography are also introduced in this chapter.The second chapter summarizes the relative contents about the social change and the research progress on the change of urban spatial structure home and abroad as well as the dynamic mechanism relating to the spatial structure change. Then this chapter introduces the basic information about Shenyang city, including the geographical characteristics, the historical development process and the spatial structure of the city before 1949.In the third part, the paper studies the changing process of the urban spatial structure and the social change of Shenyang in 1949-1978. Further, the article analyzes the influence on the spatial structure change from the three parts of the social change, including the change of institution, economy and population. Taking Tiexi industrial area in Shenyang for example, this paper analyzes the significant role of forming the spatial structure of the city. After a comprehensive study on the process of the spatial structure change and the social change after Opening-up, the fourth chapter analyzes briefly the coupling relationship between the social change and the spatial structure change, meanwhile, on the base of the study in the third chapter. Last, this part also discusses the effect of Tiexi area exerting on the spatial structure of Shenyang.Finally, through the summarizing the previous research, the paper makes an attempt to build the theoretical framework of the coupling relationship between social change and urban spatial structure.
