Freud's "Oedipus complex" tells us, Patriciding is a psychological state of unconsciousness, is an universal psychological phenomenon of our human beings. But compared to the prosperity of the patriciding tradition in the Western literature, there are almost no description concerning that theme in Chinese novel before the 20th century. Although we could found some characters with brilliant spirit of the treasonous in Chinese novel, the outcome of them was always castrated by the feudal paternity inevitably. Until the 20th century,patriciding consciousness bagan to appear in the Chinese novel. The pioneers of the May Fourth Movement first to raise the banner of resistance to the father. In the influence of the Western culture, Chinese intellectuals began to examine the relationship between father and son , which has already existed for thousands of years. Then they criticized the feudal patriarchal fiercely.It can be said that throughout the whole history of Chinese novel in the 20th century , the rebel to the father and the repression to the son has never stopped, even more an more fierce. Eventually , it developed to a massive patriciding movement in the end of the 20th century .The number of its participants, the degree of its depth and the breadth of its impact has never happened in the history of Chinese literature. So the paper tried to put the patriciding consciousness under the expansive background of Chinese novel in the whole 20th century,mainly research the novel in the 20th 80s and 90s .Though the close-reading of different text on patriciding consciousness in this period ,try to dig the great significance of intercourse between Chinese and Western cultures, and discuss the deep meaning combined with the context of "Globalization" and ""Consumer culture" in the end of the 20th century .The prolegomenon of this paper mainly intreduced the theory of "Oedipus complex",then analyzed the great significance behind the patriciding consciousness according to the different literary tradition between the Chinese and Western literature. The bosy of this paper contains three chapters. Chapter 1 introduce the different description of patriciding consciousness through analyzed the text of the Avant-garde writers, the Female new history writers and the New generation writers. Chapter II mainly focus on two questions under the context of contemporary culture : why there are so many descriptions around patriciding consciousness in the end of the 20th century ,and why they are so different between these genres. The fierce collision between Chinese and Western cultures in end of the 20th century is the most important reason, and different culture standpoint and choice lead to different aesthetic and psychic style. Chapter III discuss the deep meaning and enlightenment combined with the context of "Globalization" and ""Consumer culture" in the end of the 20th century .The younger generation in the end of the 20th century completely overthrow all political, cultural, ethical authority, but inability to establish a new order, so they always in a state of weightlessness,and they began to set foot on the new journey to search for "father" .Writers in the 20th Century experienced the bloody and brutal of the Patriciding consciousness,become more rational. When the civilization is experiencing a dramatic transformation in the era of globalization, we should have a clear grasp of the relationship between the main contradictions ,which is also the cultural significance that we concerning about this type of patriciding consciousness in literature .
