Postmodern-A Legitimate Process Of A New Kind Of Metanarrative

Postmodern has been the hot topic in the last century, however, the debate about it still on the way. We can find postmodernism in the field which covers art, philosophy, economy, politics, religion and so on, that almost the whole life scopes of our human beings, however, we still have many different opinions on how to apprehension the meaning of postmodern. Because of postmodern has a multi-thought mode which allows the existence of difference , all the comprehension about it can be reasonable, that's the reason why the definition of postmodern is ambiguous and why the boundary is blurry and hard to define.This thesis tries to achieve a clear and simple logic about the postmodern from the aspect of the postmodern as a new kind of metanarrative's legitimate process, but it do not mean the postmodern itself is simple. Postmodern thinks that modern metanarrative has been decomposed into a series of min-narratives, the general theory has disappeared. Unconsciously, while the postmodern is denying all the metanarratives, itself has become a new kind of metanarrative at the same time. metanarrative means that it's a kind of authoritative discourse which has a kind of priority in all kinds of discourses, this is a kind of general and applicable discourse behavior, it has the legality on it's own and the other discourses need to gain the legality from it. But that doesn't mean the legality clear of postmodern which as a new kind of metanarrative need not to be proved, it definitely will confront many query and opposition, so the postmodern adopts a series of strategy to make itself legitimate, after the progress of legitimate postmodern proved its legality gradually. Through killing its father which means the action of anti-modern and rebuilding its hometown, postmodern tried its best to achieve the legality, however, the paradox characteristic of postmodern which can't be eliminated makes it also has the elimination characteristic of itself. On the legitimate process, postmodern encountered many conflicts and paradox become its style. The difficulties of rebuilding the hometown makes postmodern take present as future and wandering on the way, march forward forever.
