Tie Ning is a pioneer of the contemporary literary community. She has engaged in Literature for 30 years, and has achieved fruitful results. When studying on her works, her native consciousness can be seen throughout her entire creative period. This thesis takes a perspective of native awareness, from four parts to explore, explain the characteristics of native consciousness presented by the works of Tie Ning.Part I. There are three major reasons for the formation of her native consciousness: One, the collective unconscious of native China has invisibly impacted on Tie Ning's creative works; Two, the inclination for retrospection on the literature and educated youth literature focusing on "native" theme becomes her own duty; Three, Tie Ning's own special native complex. The three factors listed above made Tie Ning's native consciousness a success.Part II. The native consciousness in Tie Ning's works takes three different forms: First, the author's intrinsic acclaim for the villages, rural human kindness, and longing for rural life. Second, the calm but insightful thoughts that village is not as clean as a idyllic paradise, thus an attempt to reveal the villagers nature. Third, Tie Ning from the height of the nation, examined villages, as well as the idea of village: the spirit of our nation on the spirit of the reserves in the villages.Part III. Unlike other native writers, Tie Ning's native consciousness features her own characteristics. In her works she depicts main feature of the plains scenery and original customs of the people who live on Jizhong Plain. She also manifests her the ingenious use of the local dialect. "Plain characteristics" in Tie Ning's works is another bright spot.Part IV. This part is meant to illustrate Tie Ning's effort in looking for the home of human spirit. Through the return of the soul, she tried to find the ideal place for the community. As in her novel "Cotton Field", she meticulously created a spiritual home, where a person's soul can rest in peace.Tie Ning considers writing as her own duty. Her thoughts on the villages and the nation, as well as the anxiety of a spiritual crisis, reflect her ultimate care for the destiny of the human.
