Yan Di Image Transmission Design Research

Yan Di, as the ancestor of Chinese people and our distant primogenitor, has been representing our national image and civilization inheritance. The study of visual transmission of Yan Di's image under modern social conditions and the cultural atmosphere brings a fresh idea to the field of artistic design as well as to the construction of the harmonious society and help strengthen the national spirit.In china's history of five thousand years, numerous Yan Di statues for Sacrificial- ritual have been built in everywhere. Taking their image as the main study object, the author explores the rich connotation of the"beauty of Yan Di statues for sacrificial-ritual"from angle of the Artistic Designing, The paper first cites large amount of literature to illustrate the Yan Di Shen Nong's inheritance lineage, his great achievements and ethics. Gives a systemic analysis of the social and humane values of the image inheritance of Yan Di. Summarizes its the social value - harmony, the cultural value– Innovation, the ethical value - dedication, ethical value - filial piety, and thus sublimates the esthetic sense of Yan Di's image. By the combination of on-the-spot investigation and the collection of materials, The author inquires into the origin of Yan Di's statue for sacrificial ritual as well as the current status, and analyzes its features:For example, the ideal blending of the method of portrait and sculpture, emphasis on the authenticity of artistic expression, artistic ideal and decorativeness in expression; Moreover, the most consistent esthetic idea of all previous Yan Di sculptures for Sacrificial- ritual of different dynasties, namely the social culture attribute which lays great emphasis on beauty is also explained in this paper. Finally, the study concerns with the visual transmission design and its application. The author describes the body characteristics, modal characteristics and the costume features from artistic design's point of view, locating the image of Yan Di in modern vision transmission design to a typical Chinese, and then ,generalizes three kinds of modeling patterns,"Shen Nong Type","Yan Di Type","Yan shen Type", and extends the way of vision transmission design to many fields, such as sculpture, drawing, animation, digital phantom and so on to establish Yan Di as the typical example of beauty in china, shining national spirit forever.The author expounds the reality of Yan Di's image transmission with modern people's thinking and rationally. Points out the inheritance losing: The image flaw– vary from place to place, dedicating its portrait respectively; Ethical flaw-worshiping emperor while neglecting the empress; the commemoration flaw- etiquette is tedious, isolating from reality and so on. And the paper gives suggestion that we need publish standard portrait of emperor and empress. The paper takes a historical personage's image design as a point of breakthrough in the artistic formation and the esthetic idea, strive to differentiate the contemporary art design from the traditional arts and crafts and relate traditional arts to modern arts, demonstrating a bigger tolerance to the humanities idea and the aesthetic value. The present study will be helpful the dissemination of Yan Di's image.
