Cognitive linguistics is a research focus of linguistics at home and abroad.Schematheory is an important theory in cognitive linguistics. Its scope is wide,and with theadventure and development of modern cognitive linguistics,the meaning of schematheory has been enriched.In recent years,the image-schema theory,which developesfrom schema theory and image theory,provides a new way to foreign language study.Poems are called the essence of language,image is the soul of poems. Imagetransmission is the key to conveying the beauty in poems. This thesis introducesimage-schema theory into the analysis of English translation.This thesis selects theEnglish translation of Tang poetry,and the author tries to apply the image-schematheory to analyze the image transmission in order to find a new path in translationstudy.This thesis consists of five chapters.Chapter one is a brief introduction to thewhole thesis, including the motivation, research questions and structure of thethesis.Chapter two introduces the theoretical foundation of the thesis. Schema theory,image theory, image-schema theory and image transmission are introduced in this part.At the beginning of Chapter three is an introduction to the status of Tang poetry inclassical Chinese literature and the classification of images in Tang poetry. Chapter fouranalyzes the process of the translation in image transmission using the classifications ofschema theory, namely, language, content and cultural schema, and appliesimage-schema theory into image transmission of English translation of Tang Poetry.Chapter five concludes that image-schema theory plays an important role in imagetransmission.... |
