The Harry Potter books are an extremely popular series of fantasy novels by British writer J. K. Rowling. The books depict a world of witches and wizards, the protagonist being the young wizard Harry Potter. The story happens largely at Hogwarts, a boarding school. All kinds of creatures, magic arts are detailedly depicted as a matter of fact. It is important to apperceive integrally the whole story to appreciate a literary work, but the interpretation and the relish of splendid details also cannot be ignored. The artistic success of Harry Potter books exists largely in the centralizing plan of the whole story, the attractive literary details, which are very particular, animated, absorbing. J.K.Rowling's attention to details is remarkable and charming. This article brings the sequence theory of Roland Barthes and the recognition theory of Jean Piaget into children literature to demonstrate the possibility and the necessity of the existence of detail. This article aims to break through the superficial recognition of detail, strengthen the characteristics of children story, analyze in depth the characteristics of details in Hogwarts, a perfect combination of fantasy and reality.
