In the process of conquering the Hexi Region in the beginning of Hongwu period in Ming Dynasty, the Garrison Farming in the Hexi Region was began. It was benefited from military thoughts of the Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang: the military fed themselves .At the same time, in the process of Reclaimed-field in the Hexi Region divided into the Military-Colony of the major form and the Peasant-Farming and the businessmen-Farming of the assistant parts. It not only consolidated the Hexi Region but also resolved the predicament of shortage about foodstuffs in the Military.For understanding about the situation of the Reclaimed-field in the Hexi Region, the paper put emphasis on describing the administrative organization, the type of organization, the Proportion on the Defensive and Reclaimed-field and grains. Furthermore, because of the importance of water conservancy, the paper described at length the construction about the water conservancy in the Hexi Region. At the same time by listing the original historical documents, the paper outlined Reclaimed-field from beginning to the height of power and splendor, at last to decline. From the process we can see that the time when the power and splendor of Reclaimed-field of the top was just the Reclaimed-field systems, law enforcement, General Strength of the country were perfect, the most efficient and strongest. The effect of exploiting the Hexi Region was inestimable, it also relived the gap between the hinterland and the borderland. To some extent, it eased the unbalance on economy development about different regions. Of course, the unreasonable developing of the region also ruined the Hexi regions environment.
