The Research On Recent Development Of DV Documentary In TV Medium

With DV technology, a new media form of DV documentary emerged. For a long time, documentary was made in film and TV as its only communication base and environment. In 2002, DV documentary began to be integrated in TV for the first time. As a mass media communicator, TV provides an effective public communication channel for DV documentary. In China, TV is mainstreamed and mass-oriented, while DV documentary is very individualistic with multiple choices, which gives rise to natural contradictions between them. The combination of TV with DV documentary hasn't made DV documentary to be spread abroad in real sense. Instead, as a media transmitter, TV adopts quite some restrictions for DV documentary to be used. UP till now, only limited number of DV documentary have been used. This thesis, based on the developmental status of DV documentary in TV, will conduct a research, in view of the development of DV documentary and TV documentary. With the methods of analysis, research and case studies. The thesis will discuss the multi-influence of DV documentary on TV documentary production, and its meaning of existence. It will also analyze and points out the problems it was facing during the process, its substantial limitations and the issue of survival space. And finally it puts forward the targeted strategies of the DV documentary in TV communications in the near future. The thesis not only enriches the theory of research about the mass communication of DV documentary, and also provides some sample cases and present research to overcome the limitations, so as to enhance its competition in TV communication and get more survival living space.
