| Li Biliu were an outstanding therapist in the Lingnan medical history. He were one of the four most famous Lingnan therapist of exogenous febrile diseases (Shanghan) between the time which is from the end of Qing Dynasty to the beginning of Repubic of China. and < Li Biliu Yi An> are his representative works, especial is first one. Which is one of a few extant Lingnan medical works of the biggest length. Is were published in 1925. This monumental work has 8 volumes and more than 200,000 words altogether. But there are only a few editions of this book and the extant ones are seldom, and there is no publication of the collated copy of it. Many Lingnan doctors in present age only have heard the book's title, but have not seen its article, and also only a little few doctors of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the whole nation know it. The quotation and introduction in some books even make the mistakes of the book's title, edition, publication time, even the name of the author Li Biliu etc, and not to say to make a thorough and systematic arrangement of it. The study of written by Li Biliu is a weak link in the present study of Zhongjing's doctrine. In view of this, the article makes an overall literature arrangement and academic discussion, in order to write a collated and annotated book loyal to the original edition, which can provide literature materials and academic reference for clinic and research.First, collect the most more information to consummate the biographical sketch Li Biliu's brief.Secondly, comb the origin and development of the edition of . According to the most material,we find that just only one edition of is present. This printing-copy edition was published by the compiler company of East Guangdong in 14 years of Republic of China. And it is the earliest one. Based on these, collate the whole book.Now we has collected three chests of .They are separately colleted in three library, which are the library of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, the library of Shanghai University of Chinese Medicine, Sun Yat-sen Library of Guangdong Province. These ones are the same edition. At the end we select the one which is collected in the library of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine as the base book for collating. Because it can be collected easily than another two ones. According to ,the arrangement of this book includes collating, punctuation and annotation. Take maintaining the original book and original condition as the principle, we do not delete or revise anything,in order to manifest its value as the historical material.Thirdly, discuss the characteristic of the order of arrangement and the method to notated . And make supplement to the works , call it . And then try to find the academic characteristic of Li Biliu. It is thought that the most remarkable style characteristic of this book is "using six groups of meridians to set the chapter, using the original clause of the to be the key line, using the doctrine of the various specialist to be the order, then point out the merit and the demerit of the doctrine" .And the characteristic of the method to notated has three points. One is "using classic works to explain classics works" .Another is "using the doctrine of the specialist to explain classic works" . The last one is "using the therapist's experience to explain classic works" .The academic characteristic of Li Biliu can be recapitulated five point as follow. First, Li Biliu was good at rescuing the danger and urgent diseases. Thought he often use the special prescription, but the methods do not deviate the pathogenesis of the diseases. Secondly, Li Biliu was good at using the Warm-heat Herbs to rescue the diseases. And he often used Cold-cool Herbs in clinical practice. Thirdly, Li Biliu especially can use some Large Dose of herbs for cure. But we must emphasize that Li Biliu often used the Large Dose prudently. Fourthly, in clinical practice, Li Biliu often used the oral and external treatment at the same time. He also nimbly changed the oral prescription for the external treatment. Fifthly, Li Biliu extremely emphasized that we must make the use of the synthesis of the four diagnostic methods to diagnose the disease.
