A Report On The EC Translation Of History Of Chinese Medicine

Nowadays,Chinese medicine is flourishing and spreading abroad.Therefore,there are more and more medical translation works,but the ancient medical books translated from English to Chinese are rare.Obviously,the Chinese translation practice report based on Chinese medical history has certain research value.The author first introduces the project background and research status of TCM translation,points out the significance of the research,and makes sure to take Peter Newmark's communicative translation theory as the guidance.Then,it describes the characteristics of the source text and expounds the three stages of the translation process,that is,pre-translation preparation,in-translation process and post-translation work.Then,through the example analysis,discusses the medical terminology translation processing method,then demonstrates the sentence translation method and the language significance reproduction.In the process of translation,the author analyzes in detail the translation methods of proper names such as historical figures and historical information,and pays special attention to the strategies of adding or deleting appropriate words in the translation,so as to achieve the goal of communicative translation--to be close to readers and make the translation as standard,smooth and easy to understand as possible.The innovation of this paper lies in: applying western medical translation theories to guide the translation of TCM classics;Example analysis reasonable,theory and practice,simple;The purpose of introducing the English version of ancient Chinese medicine books to foreign readers is to provide some reference for Chinese medicine translators.The characteristics of the original language are fully analyzed.Google,Wikipedia tools,and related ancient books are creatively used;The flexibility and feasibility of translation principles,strategies and techniques used are demonstrated.
