The paper mainly expounds Wang Anyi's novels and her theories on novels and elaborates the situation of conversion of their binary opposition from the point of narration around the mutual relationship between record of actual events and fiction in novel's nature. By comparison of Wang Anyi's theory viewpoint of conscious narration with her actual effect of her narration, her specific works in every period are analyzed with the main thread of the change of narrative strategy. The paper consists of three parts: record of actual events——fiction——record of actual events and fiction .Chapter 1expounds concretely the forming basis of the narrative record of actual events in her early works. She starts taking personal experience as foundation to construct novel, in the meantime deep into the emotion realm of characters'feelings, gradually turning to an objective narration controlled by feeling. She forms her story with life affairs and makes use of true emotion to depict characters'mental state so that her viewpoint of creations is widely expanded and the topics are very wide. Wang Anyi forms her unique style of creation primarily by infusing deep social thinking on the basis of strengthening the social meaning.Chapter 2 is about the expansion of WangAnyi'mental world. She gradually forms the theories of"story"and"telling a story".She thinks that the form of telling a story and the exist of a story content at the same time and telling a story needs to find the best way to tell it, so she gets her own conception of novels and names it"the mental world". In this period, WangAnyi also tries the novels of different topics , contacts the topic of the artist and the spirit of the intellectual, and quest the reasonable writing primarily.The objective and sober depiction replaces the previous enthusiasm.Chapter 3, the important part of this thesis expounds the narrative strategy of novel from the convertible relationship between record of actual events and fiction. In telling stories, Wang Anyi form a tension of narration between record of actual events and fiction by employing the narrative tactic of record of actual events and fiction which is that record of actual events and fiction are mutually transformed, interchangeable and merged. She emphasizes the reasonable logical motivation's importance in novel and directs her practice with her own theories. Wang Anyi returns to the old topics of her early years which she widens and rewrites. She depicts the common people's stories and reflects the values of the spirit of our age between record of actual events and fiction and between life and art.The originality of this thesis is the comparision of Wang Anyi'novel and her theories of her novel Wang Anyi forms her theories of creation by her experiences in writing and direct her practice .She is not satisfied with the describing life sensitively, but thinks about the life with a kind of philosophy ideas, the rational philosophy reflects in her exploration of her novel creations and the theories, opens to the life with pure and fictional novel, making the coexistence of the narrative sensitive imagination with rationality, which is Wang Anyi's originality and the purpose of this thesis researching.
