A Study On Wang Anyi's Novel Poetics

Wang Anyi's exploration in the two aspects of writing and literature concept forms her unique novel poetics. This paper attempts to tidy and explain her novel poetics in four aspects, story, narrative, togue, heart world. It is this paper's aim, the exploration on Wang Anyi's novel poetics.Chapter 1: story and telling story. Wang Anyi persists in telling story in novel. The story she tells has the characters of describing common living and concerning humanity and life; Wang Anyi promotes the "physical proportion of novel" to emphasize that the plot of novel should have tight logical relation, and promotes "motivation" to emphasize that there should be motivation of the characters' action to drive the development of plot. These two concepts are all to emphasize the rational strength in novel and conclude the writing rules, thereby surpass the individual experience to write novel.Chapter 2: story narrative. After completed "three love story", Wang Anyi's interest turns to how to write. On the literature repression, Wang Anyi pays attention to "narrative" not "mimesis" to tell story; begins to let the narrator exposed to readers, the narrator playacts in the novel and even be the character ofthe novel.Chapter 3: tongue in narrating. While emphasizes "narrative", Wang Anyi changes her perspective towards novel tongue and she tends to write the novel that is really created by language. In the beginning, she wants to distinguish the novel tongue and life tongue with abstract written language. In the end, she comes back to colloquial and spoken tongue because she can reach the goal with the abstract written language or the colloquial and spoken tongue.Chapter 4: novel is a kind of makeup and spiritual existence. Wang Anyi's opinion on story, narrating and tongue at last consists in the makeup nature of literature, all are to create a non-nature existence, another world. The relation between this world and our life is that it comes from the realistic on-the-spot detail materials. The novel has its own characters that it's the spiritual word and helps usto surpass our ordinary life, and it's our Utopia poem.To sum up, in the four aspects exploration above, Wang Anyi forms her unique novel poetics. Comparing with contemporary writers, Wang Anyi pays more attention to writing technique. The "pioneer literature" initiates a reform in novel narrative and influences Wang Anyi' writing. But Wang Anyi surpasses them with regarding novel as a heart world at last, which also makes her surpasses the tendency of ordinary life and writing technique.
