Wang Anyi's Novel Creation Transformation

In contemporary literature, everyone can see Wang Anyi’s efforts and growth. Herstyle was fresh in her early years.Then, she tried to change her early style. But now herworks are back to her early style. Her creations are constantly changing. She thinks herliterature as a kind of labor, and this labor can be created. So, in the literary works of WangAnyi, you can always find the creation,especially in the different stages of the works. Inher early style, she expressed her emotions directly in the novel. But now she can expressin an objective way. From narrating simply to innovating new narrative methods, and thenback to nature. From specific language to abstract language, Wang Anyi always keeps herown pace, and makes the role of literature "artisan" perfect step-by-step. In this thesis, mytheme is "turning". And I divide Wang Anyi’novels into different stages through a closereading, combining with her works of each period and analyzing the transformation of thewhole creation.In the introduction part, I’ll select some important current study and summarize theirpoints of view. And I’ll point out the main content of my thesis. Following the first, secondand third chapters, I will analysis my thesis from the narrative, the language features andcharacter description at different stages of her novels. In addition, the last chapter I want toanalysis her novels’ prominent feature, and shortcomings. If you want to understand awriter comprehensively, you should not only see her achievements, but combine with thelack of her creation.Wang Anyi’s novels have changed dramatically, but her spiritual world has notchanged. Her every creation did not change on purpose, but it happened naturally. She wasjust trying different ways to express her the most.
