The thesis consists of two sections. In section one, some problems related to Yi Li General Records are presented and a new copy of records compiled by the author is introduced. In section two, some issues on Yi Li Generals are analyzed in great detail.Section one expounds the fact that scholars and treatises in the field of Yi Li general study have been increasing since the Qing Dynasty. The records of Yi Li generals are various in styles, among which some are arrival records in certain months, and some on certain days. While both advantages and disadvantages exist in them, they are generally incomplete and defective. By comparing and contrasting the merits and demerits of these records, the author introduced a new copy of Yi Li General Records according to documents and literatures.Three vital issues are specifically analyzed in the second section of the thesis. Firstly, it can be proved with sufficient textual research and analysis that the first Yi Li General was A Gui, and the establishment of Yi Li General system could be traced back to the 25th regnal year of Qian Long, before which a long process of preparation for it lasted. Secondly, the native banners of Yi Li generals are closely investigated. The officially nominated Yi Li generals in the regnal years of Qian Long all belonged to the upper three banners, which was due to the particularity of Yi Li generals nomination and the careful consideration of Qian Long. Generally, From the establishment of Yi Li general system to the end of the Qing Dynasty, the majority of Yi Li generals were exclusively from the upper three banners. Moreover, the research on the previous positions of Yi Li generals is also conducted in the thesis. The conclusion can be drawn with record lists that most of them had military posts before they were nominated; the officials from Xin Jiang district were always given the priority to be the successors of Yi Li General; besides, generals and commanders-in-chief from other districts were also the principal sources of the selection.
