Cheng Hao occupied an important position in the development of Song Ming Confucianism, and his thoughts produced great infection to the evolution of Confucian. The most character of Cheng Hao' philosophy is that he attached greatimportance to the spirit of Confucian------"Tao". In the Cheng Hao's philosophy ,"Tao" is the heavenly principle with vivacity and animation. The mind and nature are both the real embodiment of the heavenly principle. On one side, the significance of the heavenly principle ties to mind and nature; on the other side , the significance of mind and nature is acted in the culture working of "recognition of benevolence"and "stabilizing nature". This culture working of Cheng Hao is about benti-gongfu and jingjie-gongfu . By anew reading of classical Confucian, Cheng Hao gave benevolence a new life, and the benevolence became a kind of "spring of life ". Once human experienced the real meaning of benevolence, they can achieve the ideal realm, where all the things were regarded as organic whole.Cheng Hao' ideal realm embodied the spirit of the philosophy of Cheng Hao. This is the highest ideal realm, and the highest standard to be a man. To individual life, this is a ideal realm of "stabilizing nature". The both sides are accordant. Cheng Hao pursued a kind of undistinguishable state of holding aloof from the world, which is a harmony state with all things on earth as an integral whole. The ideal realm embodied Cheng Hao's special model of thinking. The special model of thinking means one root, without limit. In other words, it means the same of heaven and human, the same of mind and nature;and there is no differences about early and late, inside and outside, movement and quietude. Cheng Hao arrived at the ideal realm via his "titie". The ideal realm is the feature of Cheng Hao's philosophy, and is the real meaning of Confucian. This paper describes the ideal realm by researching Cheng Hao's philosophy. The ideal realm is an important clew.As a basic problem and clew of researching Cheng Hao's philosophy, we can go deep into life to explain the spirit of Cheng Hao's philosophy. This paper holdes the opinion that Cheng Hao exploited a new direction of the development of Confucianism by the ideal realm.
