| The problem of mind and nature is one of the core issues of Confucianism.After Mencius,Neo-Confucianism scholars in the Song and Ming dynasties not only inherited the Confucian tradition and critically absorbed the thoughts of Buddhism and Taoism,but also put the emphasis of Confucianism on the study of mind and nature.Among the various Confucians of the Northern Song Dynasty,Cheng Hao’s theory of human nature is quite distinctive and extremely important,which is not only one of the core of Cheng Hao’s philosophical system,but also deeply influenced the development of the subsequent study of mind and nature.For the study of Cheng Hao’s theory of human nature,the first thing we should pay attention to is his harmonious pattern and the expression method of round dun,which are the remarkable characteristics of Cheng Hao different from other neo-Confucianists in Song Dynasty.Cheng Hao’s theory of human nature is based on the view of heaven and Taoism.His philosophy of Heaven takes "Tianli" as the core category,"Tianli" is the highest noumenon of Cheng Hao,Tianli is metaphysical,but it also takes "Sheng Sheng" as its internal feature,Tianli is the main body of creation,"Tianli" also has the meaning of "physiology"."Tianli" encompasses everything and creates all things.Tianli is popular,developed and applied to the subject and becomes the sexual body.The sexual body is the prescriptive and moral basis for the physiological internalization of Tiandao in the subject.It communicates noumenon and phenomenon,subject and object,and embodies the characteristics of a harmonious book.Secondly,Cheng Hao creatively combined the idea of "nature is the mandate of heaven" in The Doctrine of the Mean with Gaozi’s proposition of "natural quality is called nature",and the heavenly principles of "Sheng Sheng" is introduced into noumenons.In his theory of human nature,the difference between "nature of destiny" and "nature of temperament" is implied,while this difference is the relationship of "one then two,two then one"."Nature of destiny" and "nature of temperament" are two different aspects of the theory of human nature."Nature of destiny" is the moral basis of transcendence in form,and "nature of temperament" is the actual human nature under form."Nature of destiny" can not be said,can only be understood from the understanding of "nature of temperament".Finally,in Cheng Hao’s theory,the process of the birth and birth of the nature through the mandate of heaven and the nature of the reality are mixed with the nature of the subject.Because of the limitation and influence of "Qi",the subject can not really realize "the nature of the destiny of heaven" in the practice process,so it needs to do "Chengzhi gong" to eliminate "Ke qi".The subject realizes the nature of destiny through the restraint of "eliminating Ke qi" and the cultivation of the nature of "Cheng jing to be benevolence". |
