There are phenomena for a long term in the technical schools which only take special and practical courses seriously but neglect the basical and theoretical ones, not to speak of paying attention to English teaching and learning. With the increasing penetration of Chinese industrial integration and global economic integration,English as a language tool begins playing an important role in every special field. More and more technical students come to realize that English is not only learned for the entrance exam but also for the practical needs. Technical English teaching and learning has been concerned and researched by both linguists and language teachers. Relying on the theory of affective psychology, Affective Teaching Mode comes into our views. It optimizes technical English teaching by bringing affective factors into play and manoeuvring them effectively. The writer even finds out that compared with intellective factors, affective factors are more important in technical English teaching and learning, for under many situations the students can't learn well just only because of passive affective factors, students'affective state plays a direct role in their language learning. This paper starts with the reseaches on overseas and domestic affective education by introducing famous educational specialists'and psychologists'investigations,then discusses the affective factors such as motivation,self-esteem,confidence,interest,anxiety, empathy ect.,and the students' affective demands for teachers'teaching. Based on the theoretical discussion above, the writer begins to describe the characteristics of the technical school students and problems existing in the English teaching ,followed by a detailed analysis of the reasons. At last,relating with some teaching cases, four teaching strategies are suggested to help the teachers put affective factors into teaching practice. In order to prove the correction and feasibility of the view, the writer organized investigations and experiments into the reality of English teaching and learning in technical school.
