Among the onrush of Hong Kong entertainment driven by consumerism, the WuLiTou films have become the champions because of its unique style as the outstanding post-modern comedy. WuLiTou is the embodiment of the particular mentation of Hong Kong society. It reflects the ideology of Hong Kong civilian. The exertions with various inconsecutive and non-logical scenes and treasonous vivid exploring in his films demonstrate that the significances of Stephen Chow's films are not in the shade of any classical distingue ones from academism. The captivate style of Stephen Chow's films should be appreciated and encouraged. His films are worth for collection. The article presented here will study the scriptures of Stephen Chow's films, focusing on Hong Kong social cultures and so called Stephen Chow phenomenon, discussing the characteristics and spirits in his WuLiTou films, the new reasons underlying its popularization, as well as the limitation and possible tendency of this unique style of films, through which the post-modern art styles in this consummeristic society will be studied as well. Moreover, the values of Stephen Chow films as the reference to both theoretical and practical developments of present comedy in China will also be discussed.
