This paper analyzes the situation of Weimar society through women's family life, political life and socioeconomic life in Weimar period. This paper has four parts. The first part observes the situation of women in Germany before 1918. The author divides up the society of Germany before 1918 in two phases, one phase before First World War and the other phase after First World War. Women before First World War began to enter into labor market by the step of modernization, and they had their own demands though these demands were not political. First World War entirely involved women of Germany in politics, economics and culture. Then they began to have new ideas, especially in politics and occupation. The second part mainly describes women movement during the period of Weimar Republic in Germany. Based on the efforts in First World War, women movement in Germany gained great progress and success during the period of Weimar Republic. In 1919, one hundred and ninth item of Weimar Constitution prescribed that women and men in Germany had equal rights. Meanwhile women in Germany had the right to be voted. After women gained this right, Parties paid attention to women finally, and many women joined different kinds of Parties, even some became Congressman. However, so-called female councilmen were just many chessmen of councilmen. The third part exoatiates on women's family life during the period of Weimar Republic of Germany. Family life was always women's stronghold. A large number of women entered into labor market during the period of he period of Weimar Republic, and they began to have the idea of birth control in order to work. People thought work of these selfish women and action of birth control violated their fate of being mothers, but many experts agreed with this kind of action to improve the quality of race, which was called prepotency. Change of marriage idea was a breakthrough, and society began to pay attention to women's psychology and quality of marriage. The development of modern family electricity demanded women to become modern women who were familiar with family work and can make use of leisure time appropriately after using the modern machine. The fourth part observes women's socioeconomic life during the period of Weimar Republic of Germany. Women's appearance in this time made people believe that the time of women liberation came. Women began to realize themselves in jobs and public places. But in practice women didn't have any actual change in the chance of hunting jobs. Super secretary was just the result of men's work pressure or seeing too highly of themselves. People in society thought women's role of mothers higher than anything else of them, and those women who had married shouldn't go to work. The courses and degree of women's education determined their employment. Even if they had jobs, their salaries always lower than men's. And when there was competition between women and men, women always became the objects of being neglected. Women in the period of Weimar Republic hadn't the right of work in actual life; their jobs were just the socioeconomic need. And their jobs were no more than economic source before they married and a bywork besides family work after they married.
