A Syntactic And Pragmatic Study Of Chinese Parenthetical Clauses

The study of discourse marker or pragmatic marker is hot now in international linguistics circle, scholars are extremely giving much attentions to this complicated language phenomenon. But as for the current situation and achievement, domestic research is worse. The study of modern Chinese parenthesis is just now starting, both great majority linguistics books and grammar books have been in progress more or less discussed or analyzed it, but not going deep into. A few scholars have special paper to discuss the modern Chinese parenthesis, involving study of individual parenthesis, contrasting some parenthesis to other language, second language acquisition, inspecting of pragmatic function, and so on.The main body of this paper aims at comparatively and all-round inspecting , describing and analyzing the peculiar sentence component, in order to study the range, character, formation, syntax position, semantic, pragmatic of it deep. Researching the achievement of synthetically people and older generations scholars, and from analyzing many Chinese phenomenon, we definite modern Chinese parenthesis as a peculiar pragmatic component, it is independent in a sentence,and is feel. It intervenes in a sentence as a locatical language, which is to indicate some affect ional significance or feel. We also compared parenthesis with other pragmatic components, and make a contrast of them; We classified and described modern Chinese parenthesis, and discovered the individual words, the phrases and little sentence parenthesis is common existing in modern Chinese. But individual words are not rich, phrases and little sentence parenthesis is richer; the modern times Chinese parenthesis in the sentence is comparatively nimble, it can appear in three locations: the head, the middle, the end. However, inspecting a plenty of language phenomenon, we discovered the nimble degree of parenthesis's location is limited, some can appear at will in three location, on the basis, observing large amount of language material facts, still minority can only appear in a sentential location , generally the head, then the middle,the tail fewest. As the location is different, it bring different effect to the sentence, the affect can be from syntax aspect also pragmatic aspect; In this paper, we discussed the pragmatic function of parenthesis from angles: discourse, verbal communication and met language. Recommending home and abroad theory, we discussed and analyzed modern Chinese parenthesis combining with Sinitic language.
