A Study Of The Phonetic System Of The Dialect Of Dingjiang In Lingchuan County

We take the local dialect of Dingjiang Town, Lingchuan County as the object of our studying. We record the phonology of it and then analyze it from the historical and contemporary visual angle, aiming at having a detailed and accurate description for it. So we hope we could provide some founded materials for the studying of Ping dialect of North Guangxi.There are four chapters in the paper:The first chapter: introduction. The geographical situation, the history, the population and the phonetic copartner are introduced in this chapter.The second chapter: the phonology of Dingjiang Town. we conclude the traits of the initials, final sounds and tone of it. Then we make out the forms of combination of them and a syllabary.The third chapter: historical compare. We compare the phonology of Dingjiang local dialect with the phonology of the mediaeval times (the phonology of Guangyun)by the way of statistics and make out the comparative forms in the chapter.The last chapter: contemporary compare. We compare the phonology of Dingjiang Town with the surrounding dialects such as Xiang dialect, Yue dialect. Then we conclude that the local dialect of Dingjiang Town is nothing but the Ping dialect of North Guangxi.
