Modern Chinese history has three great Anti-opium Movements,namely Daoguang regime, the Late Qing Dynasty period and Nanjing National Government "anti-drug two years, six no-opium " period. In recent years, the Anti-opium Movements has been a hot academic research, but for the Anti-opium Movement "quit" the study are rare. This thesis selects the Late Qing Dynasty Reform (1906 - 1911) as a research point, the Anti-opium Movements of "quitting" as a special inspection to more systematically, comprehensively introduce the Late Qing Dynasty Reform time the Opium Banning Movement.The thesis is divided into five parts:The first part is about the background of Anti-opium Movement. Late the 19th century and the early 20th century, the opium not only seriously damages the health of the people, but also leads to serious economic and social problems. At that time no-opium voices highly increasing, the Qing government launched the Anti-opium Movement in the Reform period.The second part introduces the measures of quitting opium from all society. First, the Qing government issued policies and regulations, in order to express the determination to quit opium, with particular attention to the government official to give up opium; Second, the Qing government encouraged people to participate the Quit-opium Movement broadly. In addition, some of foreign friends in the Opium Banning Movement played an irreplaceable role.The third Part introduces the characteristics of the Opium Banning Movement. The first one is flexibility, which reflected in the policy and the target of propagation; Next is a demonstrativeness, in the Opium Banning Movement paying attention to establish pattern; The third one is innovative, such as paying attention to women in quitting opium problems; The last one is propagandistic diversity, such as the use of speech, burning instruments for smoking opium and so on.The forth part discusses the resistance in the Opium Banning Movement, such as the system of the government is imperfect, the law of executing is relaxed; Civilian aspects of opium smokers'psychological problems, dishonest behavior of illegal businessman and so on ;In addition the obstruction of Britain and other imperialist countries, has seriously blocked the development of the Opium Banning Movement.In the last part, the paper shows us the achievements and the meaning of the Opium Banning Movement. It makes a great success under the support of Qing government and the people's positive efforts, and the support of foreign friends, though there was much more resistance. While there are a lot of immature, we should not deny the movement's positive significance.This article used a lot of newspapers,periodicals, etc. ,based on the existing research , it systematically and comprehensively introduced Opium Banning Movement in the Anti-opium Movement of the Late Qing Dynasty Reform (1906 - 1911) period.
