| After being transmitted into China, Buddhism was intentionally chosen to combine with Chinese colligraphy and sculpture, on the one hand, which has played a promoting positive role in preserving, tansmitting and developing Buddhism in China as well as accelerated the process of Buddhism's Chinese pattern; on the other hand, which has conserved a large amount of valueless Buddhist culture and Colligraphy cultural materials, and enriched colligraphy producing contents and displaying styles as well as increased abundant Buddhistic colligraphy artistic works in colligraphy artistic treasure houses. After dynasty of Sui and Tang, Buddhist doctrine has made a powerful influence upon colligraphy artistic production and aesthetic conceptions, on the contrary, colligraphy art has become the carrier and resource of meditation on and understanding of Buddhism. Therefore, in a virtuous relationship of interaction, Buddhism, zen and colligraphy have made their respective contribution in promoting Buddhist culture and Colligraphy culture, the development of zen ideas and Colligraphy art in particular, and embodied their respective significance and value.We must notice the common internal features that religion and art have showed concern for life. Up to today, we can still find soul conversion to Buddhism in persuit of perfect, natural, quiet and harmonious Buddhism and colligraphy. In this way, having a true recognization of the internal relationship and shared functions of religion and art is beneficial to fulfilling the awareness of life and seeking human's internal harmony in addition to obtaining people's desired happiness and calmness in modern society. Consequently, focusing on the relationships among religion, art and modern life concern, this article attempts to interpret the significance and value of Buddhism and colligraphy in modern context from the pointview of spirit. |
