Research On Cicero's Harmonious-Society Idea

Cicero was an outstanding politician, philosophy, attorney and Latin Master in ancient Rome period. He proposed a series of idea upon saving Roman Republic and developing a society with harmony, yet the academic world generally ignored the importance and its influence to the aftertime of his idea. Thus, it is essential to progress the study on his harmonious-society idea systematically and intensively. This article are made of three parts: introduction, main text and conclusion.In the introduction, it mainly summarized the profits of former theories, pointed out their deficiency and deviation, and clarified deeply on the necessary study upon this Harmonious-society idea of Cicero and the innovative points of this article as well.The main text are divided into five sections. Chapterl briefly introduced all Cicero's life and analyzed the generating background, theoretical origin of the Harmonious society Idea, and these factors of above' influence and effects toward the Harmonious -society Idea itself; Chapter 2 mainly researched the Harmonious -society Idea of Cicero from three aspects: Harmony between nation and individuality, harmonious mixed-government and the ideal leaders of a country so as to show the substance of Cicero's view on nation and regime, and pointed out its influence on Roman Empire, the development of the state -Characteristics and the theory of western Constitutionalism; Chapter 3 exposed principally the Harmonious -society Idea of Cicero principally from natural law, religion law and bureaucratic-establishment law, pointed out that its influence upon the Legal Philosophy of the afterworld; Chapter 4 studied the Harmonious-society Idea of Cicero from the aspects of elderly, friendship, righteousness and profit and revealed its significance to build a new type of ethics and value system in harmonious socialist society; Chapter 5 primarily analyzed its success and failure of this Idea, and tried to make an objective and scientific evaluation on Cicero's Harmonious -society Idea.The conclusion summarized and concluded Cicero's Harmonious-society Idea's deep and longlasting influence toward the afterworld and its referrence to in the build of harmonious socialist society.
