"Bie(别)"is a word which is often used in modern Chinese, and it has many diverse usages. This paper analyses several usages and the source of the the auxiliary verb and mood adverb"bie(别)".The first usage of"bie(别)"(record as"bie~1(别~1)") is mainly used in imperative sentence and express prohibited negative. It is an auxiliary adverb. This paper discusses its several common formats in imperative sentence, such as:"bie(别) V"and"bie(别) V le(了)","bie(别) V zhe(着) (O)"and"bie(别) V zhe(着) (O) le(了)","bie(别) bu(不) X"and"bie(别) tai(太) Y".And analyses the ambiguity in these formats from the perspective of tense and aspect. This paper holds that the phase characteristics of the verb which behind"bie(别)"and the different level relations between"bie(别)"and the compositions which behind it are the reasons of causing ambiguity. The second usage of"bie(别)"(also record as"bie~1(别~1)") is also an auxiliary aduerb, It is used alone, and it separate the compositions which behind it by a punctuation(usually a comma). This paper analyses the syntactical and semantic features of its follow-up sentence, and divides these follow-up sentences into three categories ,and disscusses their discourse functions. In addition, this paper also analyses the features of the additional expansional format. The third usage of"bie(别)"(record as"bie~2(别~2)") is a mood adverb. It expresses speculation with"shi(是)"or"bushi(不是)"or without them, and the case which without them is unusual. This paper holds that when"bie~2(别~2)","bie2shi(别2是)"and"bie2bushi(别2不是)"express speculation, the follow-up sentence is a proposition. Based on the different degree of integrity of proposition, we divide the proposition into integral proposition and ellipsis proposition, and further analyse the features and functions of these propositions. They are the same in syntactic structure, but they are different in pragmatic. This paper not only analyses various usages of"bie1(别1)"and"bie2(别2)", but also studies their sources. They are originate from"buyao(不要)", and they have the possibility in cognitive conversion. They have different environment of grammaticalization. The syntax environment of"bie~1(别~1)"is before the verb in the imperative sentence. The syntax environment of"bie~2(别~2)"is before the judgement verb"shi(是)"in the judgement sentence. In addition, this paper also discusses the sources of"bie1(别~1)"which used alone and"bie2shi(别~2是)"and"bie2bushi(别~2不是)"which express speculation.Generally speaking, this paper not only absorbed the results of previous studies, but also on the basis of predecessors re-analysed some old problems in the new perspective, and comprehensively analyses"bie~1(别~1)"which used alone and mood verb"bie~2(别~2)"which are less of previous studies. We try to find linkage between"bie~1(别~1)"and"Bie2(别2)".
