It is a common phenomenon that"time-consumption is high, and efficiency is low"in English teaching, we must emphasize the importance of language application especially. It has been a pursuing goal to solve the real problem of efficiency in English teaching in various ways. With our implementing strategic policy of thriving the country through science and education, the scientific and technological activity is unceasingly increasing, which provides the massive opportunities for the teenagers to study foreign language, and raise and develop their ability to use English.Introducing from the background of the scientific and technological activity permeated English teaching, this article has pointed out the goal and content of research as well as the principle of activity designing. With the characteristic of this kind of English teaching clarified emphatically,it takes the related theory as the basis, and manifests the effect and the influence on English teaching in the resource of the scientific and technological activity from three aspects, i.e. the social value, the teacher's career development and the student's individual growth. The conclusion is that this mode is feasible and effective in English teaching.The purpose is to explore the method to enhance the efficiency in English teaching, and promote English teaching reform, which produces the real environment of using the foreign language.Finally this thesis has offered the criteria and basic step in evaluating plan of the scientific and technological activity, proposing new views from four angles of activity planning, demonstrating several characteristics which advanced educational ideas and outstanding scientific and technological activity should have. The thesis also has pointed out the difficulties and problems which exist in the process of permeating English teaching through the scientific and technological activity. This article suggests that only when the entire society focus on the role of the scientific and technological activity which plays in English teaching, unifying the scientific and technological activity and the English teaching harmoniously, can we accelerate multiplication in English teaching and the transition from exam-oriented education to quality-oriented education, which is suitable for the modernization of our society.Analysing between the scientific and technological activities and foreign language teaching, this thesis not only provides some practicable attempt and valuable reference for English teaching , but also occupies a leading position in the researching field of English teaching .
