| According to murals of the Milan ancient city ruins, the research results of predecessors and other relative informations, this thesis put forward my opinions on the era and artistic characteristic of the murals of the Milan ancient ruins.This thesis consists of three chapters: The first chapter introduces the content of the murals, it include buddhist story and ornament. The second chapter dissertates the era of the murals, it include three aspect: The foundations offered by Kharosthi, the clues offered by murals and the influence of historical and cultural background. The third chapter emphasizes the artistic characteristic, it is based on the subject matter, the making methods of murals and artisitc expression.
