General Art Education is a fundamental education which faces all the students. As a kind of aesthetic education, it aims at improving students' art attainment and aesthetic quality, and tries to improve their ability of reading and conveying visual information. While the value tendency of Fine Art education steers the whole process of the education, it also turns to be the basic premise and essential basis of the educational practice. However, our General Art Education has never found an appropriate value tendency so far, and is always placed in an awkward position. Therefore, in order to make it realize its educational ideal and meet the needs of this society and era, the thesis intents to explore a new value tendency: lifelizational tendency.The author believes that 'General Art Education's lifelization' includes these contents: firstly, General Art Education will meet the needs of students' real life and practice; secondly, it will cater to the new development of our society and era; thirdly, it will put more emphasis on improving students' art attainment and aesthetic quality, developing their ability to read and convey visual information and to discern the multiple cultures.This thesis consists of four chapters.The first chapter is the preface. After specifying the origin, significance and background of this research, it makes clear a series of important concepts, and points out that lifelized General Art Education should have integrative, substratal, human, social, practical and affective characteristics.The second chapter discusses the theory background and practical foundation of General Art Education's lifelization, mainly from the angle of education science's theory and real life.In the third chapter, the thesis firstly demonstrates General Art Education's current situation and defects, and regards the reason as its alienation of our life. Subsequently, the thesis discusses the necessities and feasibilities of its lifelization.The last chapter of this thesis, which talks about practical tactics, provides proposals from three aspects: expanding of curricular resources, exploration of curricular teaching and innovation of teaching assessment.
