As one of the most renowned Chinese-language writers in the Chinese literary world in America, Zhang Cuo's writings, which have being beyond the horizons of main-land researchers in China for long, are not so popular as that could be expected from its prominence. The situation may be ascribed to two main reasons. For one thing, Zhang Cuo settles in the US, whilst his works are mostly published in Taiwan; for another, the belief of "being genuine to poems" he holds, enables the poet to consciously keep a distance away from the changeful and prevalent literature trend.Zhang Cuo has developed distinctively artistic preference in his poems. Readers are easily impacted by the deep sorrow caused by the rootless plight in those nostalgic writings of the poet. More specifically, the way Zhang Cuo copes with the conflicts of oriental and western cultures contributes to the figuration of uniquely aesthetic character of his writings, which consequently become a literary model for the writing of modern poems. To some extent, Zhang's poems afford to open a window which enables the native to insight into the world of abundant overseas Chinese poems, as well as removing the long-existing prejudice against them. Overall, Zhang's poems serve as a fairly persuasive sample demonstrating the diversity of overseas Chinese poems.My dissertation focus on Synthesis of literature and culture, surveys the specific character of Zhang's poetry by the feminism term Androgyny:In the poetry literature style, Zhang Cuo has created the Poetry of two co-style blend of literary forms: The poetry prose type mode of writing, has manifested this kind of creation's charm.In the poetry content, Zhang Cuo's poetry reflect the integration of multiple elements,for example, ancient times and modern age, perception and rationality, male voice and female voice as well as Intellectual and Warrior.Based on the cultural relic poetry, My dissertation reflecting on traditional culture as well as modernism by Zhang's romantic meditation on the pastMy dissertation discusses the contradictory nature of cultural identity through "the Intellectual and Warrior.". Through "women's sound made by man" in Zhang's poetry, My dissertation inquires he metaphorical significance of the nation on the space and time and the status tracking.Through the poetry of the Rangers, My dissertation appreciates the hidden duality on the overseas Chinese spiritual home to track down obviously, with a view show of poetry reflected by the creation of a "competent" and leave the art features.On the culture blackgroound, My dissertation appreciates the amalgamation of religion, unification of intellectuality andlyricism,as well as modernism andclassicalism in order to inquire the Synthesis feature.In the language style, Zhang Cuo's poetry has manifested "all may enter the poem", and gives elegantly vulgarly, contains refinedly in the level style, my article analyzes them from the language body launches.Specially, this article uses the feminine principle criticism term "Androgyny", but actually it has no intention to take the feminist theory as the methodology. This article tries to take the research on the cultural fusion condition, explain further "the flower is one kind of metaphor" which Zhang Cuo said,and trieS to draw the esthetics characteristic in overseas Chinese literature and the artistic value in Zhang's poetry, and works hard to build a literary and cultural metaphor by "Androgyny".
