On Zhang Ling Works In The "Native Land" And "Another Country" To Write

As one of the women writers in New Immigrant Literature, Zhang Ling attracted the attention of many researchers by excellent creative talent. Her works have broad sights and profound implication. Zhang Ling is persistent in the writing of the "homeland" and "foreign land". Most of her works can be seen the records of "Hometown" and "foreign land". The "Hometown" and "foreign land" writing is the theme of the Overseas Chinese Literature. For example, in Chinese Literature of North America,"Hometown" and "foreign land" writing experiences from the one-sided expression to the profound writing from the poem of "students Literature" to the poem of transition and the poem of "New Immigrant Literature". In addition to the common writing, Zhang Ling has personal characteristics in the "homeland" and "foreign land" writing. This paper will be discussed through four aspects of what are the picture of the "homeland" and "foreign land", the Interaction of the "homeland" and "foreign land", the narrative of the "homeland" and "foreign land" and the meaning and limitations of the "homeland" and "foreign land" writing, fully representing the "Symbiotic" characteristics of "Hometown " and "foreign land" writing and the significance about shaping "China’s image" and expansion of human nature writing. This paper is divided into four chapters for discussing.Author defines the keywords of "hometown" and "foreign land" and Combs the picture of the "homeland" and "foreign land" in the works of Zhang Ling in the first chapter. Author believe that the small "towns" with Carrying different mental functions builds the overall picture of the "homeland" and "foreign land" in woks of Zhang ling. At the same time, by depicting exotic, shaping exotic characters and writing exotic family relationships, Zhang ling builds a picture of the "foreign land". All of these make the actual content of "Hometown" and "foreign land" writing, rather than empty written symbols.The second chapter discusses the interaction of the "Hometown" and "foreign land" in works of Zhang ling. And the significance of that is he attempts to create china’s image and develop the writing theme of human nature. Because of his double perspective during the writing process of "Hometown" and "foreign land", she has a clear and rational view on the homeland through a cross-cultural perspective and shapes China’s image objectively and comprehensively. The objective and complete image of china is composed of the traditional image in the past and tragic image at present. Meanwhile the discussion of "Hometown" and "foreign land" is very important for the expansion of the writing theme in human nature which is mainly manifested in his exploration between "God" and "human nature", the demonstration of human nature in the circumstances of empty nest and the reflection of it after natural disasters. But there are some disadvantages in the process of discussing the "homeland" and "foreign land" which includes the rigid structure, excessive repeat of the plot and overweight of romance composition and author’s indefinite attitude.
