A Comparing Research On The Repeat Adjectives In Chinese And In Korean

The adjectives play an important role in both Chinese and Korean vocabular y, where the adjective repeat is seen as a common phenomenon as well. For quite a long time, the Korean had been using Chinese adjectives as the main part of their own language-especially in the field of adjective repeat where we can easily see the great influence of the Chinese language culture on the Korean language with many Chinese characters and words at that time. Therefore a great comparability between these two languages in the adjective repeat makes senseThe initial statement of the thesis includes the content and the method of its study in the following aspects:Chapter 1 the definition and features of repeat words. The thesis defines the repeat word and introduces its history as well as the features of the repeat adjectives in both Chinese and Korean languages.Chapter 2 the static study of the repeat adjectives. The thesis exhaustively counts and classifies the adjectives in the Chinese and the Korean dictionaries and makes a static study on such basis, which means to have an analysis on the different types of the repeat adjectives and a brief conclusion on the overview of these words in the dictionaries. Then it does detailed analyses on these adjectives respectively in the aspect of the formation and structure. Furthermore, the thesis draws some conclusion about the differences and similarities between the Chinese words seen in Korean and their corresponding terms in the modern Chinese by comparing the two pair by pair.Chapter 3 the comparison of differences and similarities between Chinese and Korean inherent terms. This part, which compares the repeat adjectives in Chinese inherent terms with one in Korean in all aspects from the static perspective, also belongs to the static study. It includes the comparison of both general structure and the significance of word formation; the latter, then, is expounded in both complete repeat situation and incomplete situation.Chapter 4 the dynamic study of Chinese adjectives. This part, as being the counterpart of the static study on repeat adjectives mentioned above, focuses only on the Chinese term. It mainly study the application of the repeat adjectives to the practical teaching based on the basic foreign teaching of the modern Chinese and on the Chinese Language Proficiency Test (HSK). At last, it compares the grammatical function between the repeat adjectives in Chinese and in Korean.
