Comparative Study Of Chinese And Korean Taste Adjectives

Taste is one of the human five senses. And taste word is the express ion of feelings of taste words and any kind of language contains more or less a certain amount of words, which express the senses of taste. Because of the same feeling, so different nations have the same taste and taste words; and because of cultural differences, so that differe nt ethnic and cultural meaning of the word given to taste different. C hina and South Korean languages all have taste adjectives which also f ormed such vocabulary system in both China and South Korea languages. China and South Korea languages have a closely origin relationship and the culture of two nations has both common and individual character. Based on the tongue of the "taste buds", this paper, the object of stu dy as a "sweet, bitter, acid, salty, hot" five taste adjectives, this paper for the study of cognitive linguistics perspective, through the taste of Korean adjectives constitute the two languages the type and s ignificance of a comparative study of the similarities and differences, and then reveal the cultural differences between China and Korea foo d.This research consists of Five parts:Part One is the introduction, the purpose and significance of this topic or the current research project.Part Two looks into the viewpoints on the form, meaning and cultural connotation of taste adjectives about Chinese and South Korean scholars were discussed. Based on a comparison and integration of their opinions, a relatively scientific reclassification of taste adjectives was made.Part Three discusses the comparative analysis of taste adjectives in Chinese and Korean were shown the semantic relationships between their symmetry and asymmetry.Part Four focuses on the semantic implied mechanism of taste adjectives in Chinese and Korean, and probes into the metaphor and metonymy methods of taste adjectives meaning implying in these two languages.The last part is the conclusion, the abovementioned researches and an explanation of the essays inadequacies were made.
