Xin-xing theory is the important part of Chinese philosophy and Chinese culture. However, for the extreme tension between the modern society and its introversion and metaphysical pattern, it is abandoned by the main school. But xin-xing must be deal with if we hope develop a kind of new Chinese philosophy to response the modern society. So I talk about the important text: Mencius·the first part of gaozi. And based the points of early philosopher I will give the better comprehension through a new way.Mencius·the first part of gaozi have twenty chapter and can be split three part. The first to fifth chapter tells the good of xing and the introversion of renyi. The sixth and seventh chapter talks about the question of xin. The third part tells several kinds of work to arrive the good. According to these, my analyses will quote four early modern philosophers.First, Mr. Mu Zongsan deems that human is rational human, so its xing is inevitable good. And xing is objective principle and should be embodied to subjective principle which is xin. At the gongfu field, xin will be active in any time so as to achieve the good. As for the nature realm, such as science and politics, we need a kind of self-immersion from the pure xin. Second, Mr. Li Minghui explains Mencius from the ethics dimensionality. He demonstrates Mencius hold a kind of self-discipline ethics and defines the concept of si-xin. He also refines the argument of Mencius. Third, Mr. Yang Zebo creates a word of ethics' xin-jing to explain the resource of xin. Based that, he develop a theory of three-xing and emphasizes the practice power of ren-xing. Fourth, Mr. Yuan Baoxin thinks the good xing is brought forward to give the foundation of renyi. And he quotes Heidegger's basic ontology to explain xin, so develop a different theory.Through the analyses about four philosophers, I think we should return to the ren of Confucius and the freedom of Kant, so self will be the better standpoint. Next, self should be understood from the analyses of xin-xing, which is a kind of thought experiment. At the gongfu field, we also based on self to deal with all the work which could have less tension.The last, I will return to explain the text: Mencius·the first part of gaozi. About the first part, because people could form the reason and good by the reflection of self, its xing is good. And because moral behavior is disciplined by self, the renyi is introversion. About the second part, xin-xing has the clear definition and not metaphysical at all. That means we could approve the good of xing because si-xin is a kind of good fact. And we like liyi because liyi is formed by ourselves. About the gongfu field in the third part, xin is given more intension which changes from the index of activity of self to the index of self. So xin' gongfu activity includes two parts: the self and the activity of self, which must be clearly understood. Starting from self, we could access the balance between moral activity and welfare activity.I hope this explanation could resolve Mr. Mu's trouble of the separate of two worlds, the metaphysical of xin-xing and the tension of gongfu.
