"Original-heart" And "This-heart"

"Where will Confucianism go toward?"This is the final concern of the article. From the aspect of "Original-heart Theory", the article attempt to find the uniqueness of Lu Hsiang-shan's theoretic system via analyzing "Original-heart Theory" .To point at "Song-Ming Confucianism" and "new-Confucianism", the article tries to find a "New Visual-threshold". The article holds that "Original-heart Theory" is the core idea of Lu Hsiang-Shan's theoretic system, and "original-heart" has the character of immanence and transcendence. The article made a detailed analysis about this, and made a response according to Mr. Li Tse-hou and Mr. Roger Ames' criticism, and brings up the concept of "virtue-subject". On the relationship of "Heart" and "Principle" in Lu Hsiang-shan's theory, predecessors tend to think that can be summarized by the proposition:" the Heart is just the Principle", however, this article can not agree with this kind of thought. The article elaborates the importance of the relationship between "universe-as-a-whole" and "Principle", and expounded the theoretic confronting positions between "Heart" and "Principle". After the analysis, the article expounded the "dual-entwining" of the relationship between "Heart" and "Principle", and that is a complex process in movement. In the third chapter, the article uses a new method to analyze the advancement from "Original-heart" to "this-heart". The article thinks that the concept of "This-heart" in Lu Hsiang-shan's theory goes far beyond the theoretical gradation. The "This-heart" is"instant-situation" of "Original-heart", which is the unique character of Lu Hsiang-shan's theory. According to the "instant-situation" of "Original-heart", the article brings up the two concepts of "continuous-growing" and" instant-confirmation" to explain it, and described the complex process of "self-summon" and "self- accomplishment" of "this-heart". After the theoretic accumulation of the front three chapters, the article goes into the final end of the whole article. The article thinks that the "Original-heart Theory" in Lu Hsiang-shan's theory set up a new horizon-presented of the future of the Confucianism. First, the article made an introspection of the theory of inner-excellence and outer- benevolent rule "(nèishèngwàiwáng) of "Song-Ming Confucianism" and even the whole Confucianism. The article asserted categorically that the traditional Confucianism can not avoid the problem of "the antinomy of the outer- benevolent rule". The article pointed out the great significance of "Original-heart Theory" in Lu Hsiang-shan's theory, and the "Original-heart Theory" gives us an impetus to go into the non-governmental circles and communities, which is a new, a train of thought of Confucianism. As the creator of "Heart-school" in Song-Ming Confucianism, Lu Hsiang-shan's theory has a kind of deep meaning, which is worth learning and discovering by us.
