With the theories of vocal singing and study methods of fieldwork in ethnomusicology, the dissertation reviews the inner Mongolia folksong "Urtin duu" as a music cultural phenomenon in its background. Analyzing the experiences and singing characters of three generations "Urtin duu" singer; Comparing the singing methods of bel canto with "Urtin duu", summarizing the influence of bel canto on process of passing down of "Urtin duu", therefore making further study of its contemporary phenomenon of passing down and development.
