Inner Mongolian drama has made an important contribution to the art of Chinese drama with its distinct ethnic feature. Inner Mongolian drama occupies its position in Chinese drama stage with it ethnic theme which reflects the history and real life of Mongolian ethnic or other minorities created and acted by drama artists. From1947, the establishment of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to2010, there are253dramas have been written, among which23%belong to Inner Mongolian playwriter and19%are of the ethnic theme. The ethnic theme drama is not superior in quantity but the significance is great.Inner Mongolian ethnic theme drama has developed in the long process of art exploration and has formed its artistic feature. This feature is both the external form and the internal form with the aesthetic connotation. The formation of Inner Mongolian ethnic drama has a close relationship with the local environment and humanistic geography. The construction depends on its national culture character and spiritual feature and it shows the accumulated aesthetic psychology, the aesthetic method and aesthetic perception of Mongolian minority and other minorities in the process of long history. Inner Mongolian drama of ethnic theme has trapped in a difficult situation. Only innovation can help to get out of the trap. Based on the ethnic theme, the playwriter needs to explore the new content of life, represent the ethnic spirit in the new period.
