The Reflection Of The Critical Theory Of Frankfurt Mass Culture

Frankfurt School is an important social philosophy school in contemporary western societies, which is famous for critical social theory. Mass culture critical theory is an important component of critical social theory. This essay puts emphasis on expounding the main content of mass culture critical theory and the reflection and criticism of it, at the same time, it also points out the practical significance and inspiration. The criticism of western cultural industry theory from Frankfurt School has laid an important foundation for contemporary mass culture research, and it plays a profound influence on the study of mass culture. However, because of lack of dialectical attitude, mass culture critical theory of Frankfurt School has limitations. Consequently, it needs to be reflected to promote the study and development of Mass culture theory.Along with the development of China's market economy and the rise of mass culture in China, since the 1990s many scholars have begun to do large-scale study and evaluation on mass culture theory. Among most writings concerning the evaluation of Chinese contemporary consumer culture, Frankfurt will be widespread public description of the theory of cultural criticism - evaluation framework of the machinery used in China criticized the tendency of popular culture, but not in the framework of the applicability and effectiveness of China carried out a serious challenge and examination.
