The theme of this article is to further study in contemporary to Frankfurt school’scritical theory on mass culture."Contemporary horizon" from big level relate to thehistory of the globalization background, since the childhood level to see refers to the ourcountry modernization of society background; Summary is in our country society andthe globalization of their own modernization. Along with the social modernizationprocess accelerating, the market economy in our country is obtained in the social life ofthe dominant foundation status, capital strength more and more apparent. With the rapiddevelopment of market economy and to have the dominant, the cultural industry is alsoconstantly developed. Culture is the inevitable result of the industrialization of massculture. In the industrialization and market mechanism, pushed by culture become thepublic can convenient consumption object. According to the Frankfurt school massculture critical theory, mass culture has many defects, such as commercialization, unity,deceptive, manipulating the and so on, these defects cause loss of culture transcendence.The development of our public culture, whether there is also these problems? In thispaper, we will study the Frankfurt school’s critical theory of popular culture, combinedwith the specific situation of the society of our country to analysis, and reveals thepublic cultural critique realistic significance of the theories.
