The Characteristics And Life Form Of Zhang Chengzhi

Among the writers of contemporary and current literature, Zhang Chengzhi isan unique and important one. With true reflection of his ambivalent characteristicsand life form, he created a similar unique literary world and offered another valuereference to modern literature and society. He is such an ambivalent man who isfiery and gentle, enthusiastic and silent, sensitive and forthright,simple andprofound, extreme and good-tempered, proud and pure-hearted, strong andweek.During all his life ,he lives on beauty, fights against all the dirty things aloneand is always on the road of seeking for ideal life with the light of spiritual hometwinkling in his heart .Not only the novels of grassland series at the early phase, but also hisspeaking for the Islamic world and criticizing the current affairs in the mid to lateperiod, Zhang Chengzhi, whether as a religion-believer or a wanderer, is alwayscaring about the life itself and trying to make the life full of beauty,pureness,freedom,energy,diligency,goodness,tolerance and justice. Though thelights of spiritual home are twinkling up on the untouchable high sky and in thefaraway place , Zhang Chengzhi must be on the endless road of seeking forspiritual and poetic home of human beings without any companion because of hispure and noblest ideal and his special temperament. Because of his perseveringseeking ,he feels disappointed and empty sometimes inevitably and at the sametime he has the chance to make himself to fight against the despair and nothingness by the seeking .The seeking itself became Zhang Chengzhi's un-escaped liferequirements and life form. Zhang Chengzhi is so charming and his works are soglamorous because of his particular characteristics and life form, the poeticexpression of his compositions, the noblest ideal for the human being which hepursues all the life. In this paper, I try to analyze the origin,performances andsignificances of the special appeals which belong to Zhang Chengzhi and his works.
