With the process of globalization and the development of economy, China is playing a more important role in the world. Chinese people's consciousness of consumption have changed gradually and have more pursuit of fashion with this trend. The fashion industry of China, however, is not as good as we expect and it is necessary to create chinese fashion industry which is fit for the taste of chinese people.This paper researches on the relationship between fashional design symbols and chinese people's visual thinking. Taking the definition of fashion as the beginning, the paper has analysed the features of fashion, its process of producing and the principle of its development after quoting the view of Veblen and Simmel. Combining semiotic theory of Peirce with consumption of fashion culture, this paper has researched the consumption of fashion design symbols. At last, this paper analyses and summarizes the features of chinese people's visual thinking and then provides some advices.The purpose of this paper is to summarize the relationship between fashion design symbols and chinese people's visual thinking and provides some advices to the designers. Through the research on chinese people's visual thinking, this paper has summarized the taste of chinese people and the methods of design which are fit for China.
