Jing Yang Mutiny is one of the greatest events in ancient Chinese history. Jing Yang Mutiny gave rise to the heyday of ancient Chinese history. At the end of the Sui Dynasty, the riots became worse all over the county. Li Yuan used his politicial vision to hold the tendency of the era, revolted from Jin Yang, and then cut into Guan Zhong and subdued Chang An. At last, he united the whole country and founded an extensive territory with a prosperous economy—the Tang Dynasty.Who was the leader of the Jing Yang Mutiny? Even today there is not a agreement in this field. Opinions differ. Some say it's contributed to Li Yuan and others attribute to Li Shimin, which seems to be proved. However, This paper maintain that this is not the case. A historical event is a result of a series of related incidents which shape the future. The purpose of the paper is to give a deep analysis of the question: who really was the leader of Jing Yang Mutiny? This paper researched the full span of the Mutiny, from the early stages to its conclusion by using methods of comparison and testimony to support that Li Yuan played the most important role in this event as the sponsor and leader; and the people around him, including Li Shimin, also played important roles in this whole event as well.
