Buddhist apocrypha about realistic salvation is compiled to meet the practical interests of ordinary people,with two characteristics of secular and functional,is the combination of religious Buddhism and secular social life.Among the more than 100 Dunhuang Buddhist apocypha,more than 20 of them are about realistic salvation.Jie Bai Sheng Yuan Jia Tuo Luo Ni Jing,Xiao Zai Chu Heng Guan Ding Yan Ming Zheng Yan Jing and Jiu Ji Jing are specially designed to solve the specific problems in people’s life,such as enmity,disaster and disease.They are the typical representatives of the apocrypha about realistic salvation.This paper takes these three representative realistic rescue apocypha as the research object,and makes full use of existing Dunhuang documents,stone inscriptions,ritual texts and other surrounding materials to understand the generation process and social function of realistic rescue apocypha from many aspects,such as literature sorting,version textual research,content analysis,communication influence and so on.Finally,by focusing on the four elements of realistic rescue apocypha,the rescuer,the person being rescued,the rescuer content and the rescuer way to find the personality and common characteristics of realistic salvation apocrypha,so as to observe the social living conditions and religious belief picture of ordinary people.The rescuers were clearly a large secular population in distress.The content of rescue is related to prolonging life,eliminating disasters,treating diseases,securing homes,resolving grievances and other aspects of social life.As for the objects and ways of rescue,the external forms are different and the internal roads are connected in different realistic salvation Buddhism apocrypha.
