XuDachun is not only a famous doctor, but also an important master in Qu. This thesis is written mainly by the methods of Mutual Verification between Literature and History, and Meticulous Text Reading. This thesis tries to make a macrocosm observe of XuDachun and his life in Qu, his thoughts of the theory of Qu, and his works in Qu. The first part "Introduction" explains the main intent of this thesis and the status problem of the research. Chapter 1 is the textual research of an interpretation about XuDachun'S extraction, relationships, and his companions, tries to present his life which was born in the culture nest Wu and was accompanied by Qu, demonstrates the probability that his grandfather Xuqiu, the teacher and student Guyanwu and Panlei, have weightily influenced him, and makes some textual research about the relationship of Xu father and son with the geisha who named Liqiurong, and the inheritor in Qu theory who named Yetang. Chapter 2 makes commentary and analyzes about The Tradition of Sung Poetry, tries to dredge the skeleton of the system, interpret the infiltration of the theory of Ci, Panlei's Class of Sound, and archaic phonology, especially Guyanwu's theory about the continuity of the four tune to Xu's theory of facture of Qu. Tries to do some superficial research of Gongdiao, sensibility of music, melody pattern, and issues about rhythm, and tries to sum up XuDachun's influence to posterity in concepts, subjects, and concrete influence to some important masters. Chapter 3 comments HuiXiDaoQing, discuses and analyzes its variety by succeeding to the forth goers who pursue the natural rhythm by striding over the rules, its pattern and temperament of secularity and guileless, uninhibited, and its mellifluence and popularization in literature, Tries to demonstrate that HuiXiDaoQing has achieved the self-esteem "touch people in everywhere" of XuDachun by numerating the numerous appreciators. XuDachun expressed his ideals and feelings, released the souls of himself and others, it will be convinced that he is unique in his style.
