A Study Of Promoting Education During Xining Period

During the middle stage of the Northern Song Dynasty, a gigantic and vigorous movement of promoting education took place in support of Emperor Shenzong and his Primer Minister, Wang Anshi, namely"Promoting Education during Xining period". It has profound historical and social background as accompanied Xifeng Reform at the same time. Moreover, not only have a series of reforms carried on towards education system in it brought a deep influence on the development of the current society at that time, but also produced a further influence on the development on the later stage of Chinese ancient education. This thesis attempts to do some analysis in every aspect in"Promoting Education during Xining period".The thesis consists of four sections:Section I: the social and historical background of"Promoting Education during Xining period". The part analyses it from three parts , as follows: the necessity of reform due to the political crisis in the middle of the Northern Song Dynasty, the developing of imperial examination system, and the need of Xifeng Reform.Section II: the content and system innovation of"Promoting Education during Xining period". First, analysis Wang Anshi's educational thought, then the innovation in education system in Promoting Education during Xining period.Section III: the influence of"Promoting Education during Xining period". It analyses the influence to Xifeng Reform and the Chinese ancient education.Section IV: the conclusion.
